Geek things to do in Amsterdam – Cool Japan

The second edition of Cool Japan is in Amsterdam. In 2017 I visited the museum in Leiden where they showcased Cool Japan for the first time. We could enjoy everything Japanese culture, geek, games, entertainment, JPOP, Anime/Manga and more.

Amsterdam offers cool geek things to do and you still have time to visit the Tropenmusum edition Cool Japan till September 1.

Dive into

The exposition room where you see figurines like Mario, Gundam, Evangelion, Pikachu and so much more. On a bigger screen, you see different kind of Anime that gives you more inspiration to see more Anime.

Every room has a different highlight, one room has a big samurai warrior in the middle of the room. Surrounded by Cook & Becker Street Fighter Fine Art collection. All your heroes lining up for you to reminisce about.

An ode towards Sailor Moon and Hello Kitty with different variety of merchandise.

Moving on toward the next room and you get to one of my favorite area where you can chill, relax and read Manga. Being offered by Manga Kissa, you can read all the Manga you can.

Next to reading you could also play typical Japanese games like flip the Table, Taiko No Tatsujin, Sailor Moon 2D hack and slash game, Groove Coaster and some other arcade games.

You can’t have a Japanese expose without Japanese clothing and Cosplay. For the people who don’t know what Cosplay means, its lead from the worlds Costume Play where people dress up as their favorite game, film, TV character.

There was also a section with Hentai manga books and a body pillow to get your groove on. Not really, you can not do anything inappropriate there. Don’t do it! But you can enjoy a different kind of Hentai reading. You need to be 18+ to enter.

If you have a love for the Japanese culture, games, pop culture and clothing, go check out this event that you can still visit till September 1.
